The story behind the look

Nike’s Spring Slam Tunic used narrow straps and an open back to reveal the contrasting sports bra beneath. Williams wore the fluorescent lime version with hot pink, making the layered construction part of the look.

She finished the tournament by defeating Maria Sharapova for her sixth Australian Open singles title and nineteenth major. Her on-court version had a larger opening than the retail tunic; the reconstruction follows the match photographs.
