The story behind the look

At Roland-Garros in 2006, Sharapova wore a coral-pink Nike dress with a low yellow band and a light, sheer skirt. The fitted upper section gave way to a floating flounce that spread out as she moved.

Sports Illustrated’s fashion retrospective captured the skirt in motion. Its airy volume and contrasting low hip line made this one of her more theatrical early competition dresses.
